The charming coastal community of St. Marys, Georgia offers a rich combination of culture, heritage, and adventure to any resident lucky to call it home. Southern comforts abound in the affectionately labeled Gateway to Cumberland Island; natural attractions like Crooked River State Park or the McIntosh Tabby Sugar Works Ruins rub elbows with historic downtown's waterfront shops and fresh-caught seafood dinners. St. Marys may not come up in conversation as frequently as its bigger siblings to the north (Atlanta) and south (Jacksonville, Orlando), but the city has been slowly growing over the years. As new residents continue flocking here, we decided to highlight some of the most popular neighborhoods in St. Marys, GA.

Cumberland Harbour

Cumberland Harbour earns its name. It's surrounded by water on three sides – the St. Marys River, the North River, and the Intracoastal Waterway – making this idyllic waterfront community feel much like a large harbor. Residents live in traditional and coastal signature homes in Cumberland Harbour, with empty home lots on marshfront vistas offer opportunities to build a custom home. There's no denying the beauty of Cumberland Harbour; even HGTV focused on one of the area's ornate coastal homes for a segment of its 2004 show Dream Home.

Osprey Cove

Though St. Marys exudes southern charm through and through, its no stranger to luxury. See Osprey Cove's collection of luxury homes in a resort setting. Golf, gardening, bike riding, and boating are just a few of the ways residents of Osprey Cove pass their time. Speaking of golf, Osprey Cove's 18-hole course is nationally ranked. Golfers, keep your eyes on this one!

Winding River

If you're looking for the classic, quiet suburban life, you'll find it in Winding River. This master-planned community has all the staples of traditional living: peaceful tree-lined streets, active community events and clubhouse, and the warm kindness of your neighbors. But the serenity of Winding River doesn't come at the cost of complete isolation – you'll only be 30 minutes from Jacksonville, Florida and Brunswick, Georgia.

Laurel Island Plantation

Laurel Island Plantation might technically be a part of Kingsland, Georgia, but it's only a short 10 miles away from St. Marys. The essence of small-town living thrives here. You'll find it in the collection of single-family homes situated on lakefront and golf course lots. You'll find it in abundance at the Shoppes at Laurel Island Plantation and its charming local businesses. And you'll find it in the peaceful quiet of the natural scenery that surrounds you at every step.

For more than 50 years, Watson has been in your neighborhood. And like any good neighbor, we can't wait to show you around. That's why we created The Watson Blog.

If you haven't noticed, we're fresh off launching a brand-new website. One of our goals when designing our new website was to equip it with the features you'd need to feel empowered during your home-buying and selling experiences. Feeling empowered is, among many things, feeling knowledgeable. Know what you want in your new home. Know what to do once you find the perfect home. Know about the neighborhood you're moving into. Our new website has everything you need to obtain this knowledge, and so much more.

The Watson Blog is a natural extension of that. Because while you can find the right house through our new website, The Watson Blog will fuel your creative urge to nail down the perfect décor style and themes for that house with posts about design trends and other forms of home inspiration. Our new website makes it easy to see statistics about that new neighborhood you're venturing into. But The Watson Blog will show you what it's like to live there. Find the local pizza joint with the best sauce-to-cheese ratio or the best yoga spot to achieve zen in the neighborhood guide section of our blog. Discover the best spots to spook up a good time around Halloween or how to plan the perfect gameday experience for your favorite local sports team in our local events section.

And when we say we're in your neighborhood, we mean it. Watson has a presence throughout Florida and southeastern Georgia; from as far north as St. Marys and Jacksonville to as far south as Port St. Lucie and Port Charlotte – and lots in between – The Watson Blog will be there to show you around. So join us as we post new content weekly covering a wide range of topics about all the places you call home. And should you wander into an area of the blog that doesn't have much content, worry not; we'll be fleshing out every section of The Watson Blog with the kind of rich content you want to read over the coming months.
