For Shannon Scott, the start of her real estate career is a story she'll never forget. It all began just four days after she joined Watson Realty Corp..

With her license freshly hung and her dues not even paid to the local board yet, Shannon found herself face-to-face with her very first transaction. It wasn't just any sale. It was a sentimental one involving a childhood friend, in the neighborhood and on the very street where Shannon grew up. Her friend was purchasing a home just a few blocks away, right next door to her own mother.

"I was terrified and had no clue what to do next," Shannon recalls. "But I wanted to do a great job."

And that is when the Watson family stepped in.

Her broker and the Sales Manager at the time guided her step by step through the process, giving her the tools and reassurance she needed. While both the purchase and the sale were cash transactions (which she would later realize made things simpler), they didn't feel easy at the time. What made the difference was Watson's unwavering support.

"That transaction was so special," Shannon says. "Even though it was a childhood friend, Watson helped me shine."

That sale marked the beginning of what would become a successful and fulfilling real estate career. Now nine years in and based in the St. Augustine office, Shannon reflects on that first experience as a true embodiment of the Watson way.

"I've always been a Watson girl and will continue to be a part of the Watson Family, because we truly are!"

Shannon's story is a reminder that Watson's legendary service doesn't just apply to customers. It extends to the agents who build their futures here. And sometimes, it starts with a birthday sale and a little bit of courage.
