Summer in Central Florida is ideal for outdoor activities, and sometimes that means bringing along your latest read. When our real estate agents want to unwind, they grab a good book and head to these wonderful reading spots throughout Central Florida.

Family-owned since 1973, Lukas Nursery & Butterfly Encounter is a great source for dressing up the yards of Oviedo homes for sale. Their spacious grounds include an outdoor garden that's a surprising oasis of calm where you can spend some quality time with your book. When you're ready for a break, check out the popular Butterfly Encounter and the eclectic gift shop. Admission to the Butterfly Encounter is $9, but there are no other fees for visiting the nursery. • Orwin Manor Park - 3200 N. Orange Ave., Orlando, FL 32803
Several mini-parks brighten up the community around Orlando homes for sale. At just under an acre in size, Orwin Manor Park is a reader's paradise. The park features three benches and a Little Free Library, with a supply of reading material refreshed weekly by the New Leaf Bookstore. There's also a playground and a couple of picnic tables, so you can make it a family outing. Hours are sunrise to sunset daily.

  • Winter Park Library - 1052 W. Morse Blvd., Winter Park, FL 32789
More than 125 years ago, a group of nine women assembled to create a lending library for their community. Their heartfelt efforts were the foundation for today's Winter Park Library, which opened its new world-class facility in December 2021. Designed by famed architect Sir David Adjaye, the 35,690-square-foot facility includes a common area for reading and socializing, along with a business center, education and performance space, state-of-the-art computer lab, and automated collection system. The library is open 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

  • Central Park - 251 S. Park Ave., Winter Park, FL 32789
Tucked away on the southern edge, the rose garden at Central Park is so beautiful and serene that you'll forget you're in the heart of downtown Winter Park. Colorful arrays of roses in hexagonal planters surround a majestic seven-foot peacock fountain. Vine-covered archways and a canopy of oak trees complete the picture-perfect setting near Winter Park homes for sale. Central Park is also WiFi-enabled for laptops, iPads, and Kindles. Hours are 6 a.m.- 2 a.m. daily.

  • Stardust Video and Coffee - 1842 E. Winter Park Rd., Orlando, FL 32803
Culture lovers traditionally gravitate toward coffee shops, especially when they're as quirky and hip as Stardust Video and Coffee. Dive into the latest from Stephen King or a classic Agatha Christie mystery as you sip on a cup of joe. If you're hungry, the kitchen is turning out whimsically-named dishes such as the Vote for Pedro taco plate or the Rob Reiner meatloaf sandwich. On music nights, they always have one room and the outdoor patio open without a cover charge, and they even sell used books so you can find your next title. Stardust is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.
