Florida native Michael H. Myers has a varied business and people-oriented background which serves him well in the real estate world. After graduating from the University of Florida, he worked as a photojournalist in Virginia, where he won several state awards for his intuitive and engaging photographs. Unable to shake a serious case of homesickness, he returned to Florida and worked as the sole photographer for Memorial Medical Center of Jacksonville, shooting everything from grip-and-grin photos to open heart surgery; from portraits of employees, executives and physicians, to full-color advertisements and publications. He then decided to strike out on his own and opened Lightscape, a commercial photography studio in the San Marco area of Jacksonville. Clients included Mac Papers, Merrill Lynch, Barnett Bank, AT&T, The Jacksonville Port Authority, University of Central Florida, and many others. By 1990, Michael had begun to pursue what would develop into a passion: large-format black and white landscapes of Florida's natural environment. He began marketing and selling his work through galleries and attending outdoor art shows throughout the Southeastern United States. This eventually grew into a full-time, successful business career which spanned over 20 years. Over the course of those years, he switched to painting, and continues today as a successful painter; his work is included in many private and corporate collections. As a result of this path, Michael has a deep appreciation for, and extensive experience in relating to all kinds of folks from incredibly diverse backgrounds. He finds those experiences and relationships with people one of the more endearing aspects of his career, and this is at the very heart of what he brings to the table. Why real estate? Foremost, Michael understands the importance of 'home' and considers it a privilege to serve and guide those who are wading through probably the biggest financial transaction of their lives. He has bought and sold several houses himself over the years, worked on all of them, and knows first-hand how challenging the experience can be.
