Lauren Traviesa - Watson Real Estate

Lauren Traviesa, Realtor, MBA, is a double University of Florida graduate with more than nine years engagement in the greater Gainesville community. Prior to joining Watson Realty Corp., Lauren served as the Associate Director for Industry Relations at UF and brings almost a decade of experience in business development and project management to her real estate expertise. A kayaking enthusiast Lauren's favorite aspects of Alachua County are its beautiful spring-fed rivers and swimming holes. She currently lives in Southwest Gainesville with her husband and their rescue dog, Draco, a sweet but mischievous greyhound/terrier mix. Real Estate FAQs with Lauren How Can Using a Realtor Help Me Achieve My Goals? Owning property can be one of life's most rewarding privileges to exercise, both personally and financially. However, the process of buying or selling a home, business space or parcel of land for future development can be a daunting task if you are not equipped with knowledge, research and professional guidance. Choosing to work with a Realtor sets you, as an investor in your future, apart from other property owners and will help to ensure that you receive the most value from your real estate transaction. Peace of mind is worth something! Working with a licensed real estate agent who is also a member of the National Associations of Realtors, ensures the necessary market knowledge and industry best practices to make your next real estate transaction a seamless and enjoyable experience. How Are You Different from Other Real Estate Agents? Great question! I am lucky to live and work in a community of professionals who are top notch when it comes to knowledge and service, and it's my belief that we ALL succeed by upholding the best practices of our industry to serve the public. However, my career background blends a mix of customer service, sales, marketing, project management and relationship building experience across industries making me a well-rounded choice when it comes to trusting your valuable time, money and energy with a real estate professional. I believe in legendary service, like Mr. Watson our company's founder, and I strive to eliminate challenges for my real estate clients. In working with me, you can expect honesty, excellent communication with timely response and accessibility as well as punctuality and a light-hearted sense of humor. There's no rule that says real estate can't be fun! Lastly, when we are communicating, whether it is in person at a property, on the phone or through email, you will have my focus and undivided attention. We live in an age where information is moving fast, distraction is abundant and it's easy to make mistakes or miss important aspects of a negotiation when constantly competing for attention with our increasingly connected world. I appreciate conscientious consideration and active listening when I am seeking professional guidance, therefore, focus and attention to detail is exactly what you can expect to receive when working with me. Why Did You Decide to Pursue Real Estate as a Profession? My first job in high school was putting together marketing packages and answering phones for my aunt who was a Realtor in Tampa FL. At the time, I didn't realize a seed was being planted. Fast forward to my twenties and I found myself in the position to buy my first home; a cabin in the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina which I then enjoyed and operated as a vacation rental for the next seven years before selling it for a modest profit. That experience was HUGE for me. I realized how exciting and empowering it was to own a piece of property; to work on it, make improvements to it, share it with others and create memories in it. I realized its value, and the value of owning real estate in general, as I rented it out to vacationers on a schedule which enabled me to make my mortgage payments with the subsequent rental income. Lastly, I was able to sell that special first piece of property when life happened, and I needed my investment back for medical expenses. What a gift! However, and this is a BIG DISCLAIMER, the key to this pivotal experience for me was having a Realtor I trusted without hesitation. On both ends of the transaction, I never doubted that he was working hard for me in an honest, ethical and efficient manner. I bought, rented and sold the home with his help. In the end, my first Realtor's guidance and example, coupled with a family connection to real estate, made the difference in my first successful endeavor and convinced me that I could help others achieve the same type of rewards. What Makes the Greater Gainesville Area so Great? Gainesville and its surrounding areas offer a unique collection of live/work/play options for residents who enjoy a relaxed Florida lifestyle, warm weather, fantastic outdoor amenities and friendly, citizen-centered communities. Anchored by the University of Florida and UF Health Shands Hospital, the greater Gainesville area draws a continued mix of academic, professional and cultural diversity with neighborhoods and housing options to fit any individual or family. Sprawling equestrian estates, vintage craftsman bungalows, new construction single family homes, urban town homes, golf course communities and a range of student living opportunities all can be found within Alachua County. Home to a colorful assortment of fantastic eateries, museums, breweries and parks, downtown Gainesville is a hip place to be - regardless of your age or interests! Lastly, but DEFINITELY my favorite aspect of living in Alachua County is the multitude of outdoor activities available at your fingertips. From hiking and biking to kayaking and camping, the area and its wildlife does not disappoint. If it's a Sunday, I might just bump into you at one of the springs! Our experience with Lauren Traviesa was beyond excellent. From the beginning we trusted in her completely. She was not only concerned with finding the right property for us, but went beyond that to caring about us during this process. Her patience and concern for us made this journey as easy as possible. She worked tirelessly to be sure that all the complexities of real estate negotiations, contracts, etc., were efficiently and appropriately handled. She expertly guided us to prepare our home for sale and it was under contract within 24 hours. Lauren's enthusiasm, energy, empathy and competency make her a realtor operating at the highest level possible. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have had her as our realtor. It goes without saying, that we would recommend her to anyone buying or selling a property.

My wife and I were first time homebuyers and walked into a home that we knew was our future. Lauren did a great job helping us to secure the house against a competing offer. After that, Lauren was with us every step of the way, providing assistance and suggestions wherever we wanted and allowing us to do our own thing wherever we felt inclined to do so. She was warm, friendly, and generally just a pleasure to work with. I'd happily recommend her to anyone looking for help buying a house.
