  • Billion Dollar Club: Watson Realty Corp. Ranks 21st on RISMedia’s Power Broker Report

    Jacksonville, Fla. – May 20, 2014 — RISMedia’s 26th Annual Power Broker Survey weighed in on the real estate market’s second solid year of recovery with the record books now closed for 2013. Last year, brokers across the country witnessed many key indicators of the housing market’s gradual return to normal, heading toward a balance not seen since before the boom years.

    This welcome balance is reflected in the statistics generated by the annual Power Broker Survey, the real estate industry’s preeminent report ranking the nation’s top real estate firms. According to survey results, this year’s more than 1,000 responding brokers reported collectively more than $896 billion in sales volume for 2013 and a total of more than 3 million closed transactions — an increase of more than $125 billion in sales volume and more than 175,000 transactions over 2012.

  • Ryan Ford, Watson Realty Corp. Realtor visits Junot Investments in France

    St. Augustine Beach, Fla. - May 8, 2014 – Ryan Ford, Realtor® in Watson Realty Corp. St. Augustine office recently visited Paris, where he met with fellow Leading Real Estate Companies of the World member, Junot Investments.

    Ford toured the entire city as well as France’s country side including Claude Monet’s house and Van Gogh’s final resting place. This was Ford’s first trip to Paris and along with his amazement for the phenomenal architecture and French culture; Ford was also amazed by how much the real estate market there differed from the United States.

    “We discussed average prices and how the pricing is different than in the U.S. Of course their prices are based off price per sq. meter which one sq. meter is approximately 10 sq. feet,” explains Ford. “One example they showed me was a flat that was 12 sq. meters or essentially 120 sq. feet. It basically was a hotel room; bed, and bathroom, priced at $200,000.”

    Ford noted some flats go easily for more than $1000 per sq. foot. There are a total of 20 districts in Paris, situated from the inner city (the Louvre being the center) and making their way out in a clockwise rotation.

    “Not all the buildings have elevators, even those that are eight floors. There are a lot of stairs in some of those buildings. Most have some common ground or entry space, some green space or better yet a court yard when entering the main entry to the building,” says Ford.
