Casselberry, FL Education

If educational opportunities are a personal priority, Casselberry has choices for students at all stages of their education.  For students in kindergarten through 12th grade, the Seminole County School District has consistently achieved top grades on the annual School Accountability Report from the Florida Department of Education.  In addition, the school district was named an “Academically High-Performing School District”.

Public schools that serve the Casselberry community include several recipients of the Florida Department of Education Five Star award for commitment to community involvement. Both Casselberry Elementary and Red Bug Elementary received the award.  In addition, the local Five Star high school, Lake Howell High, is ranked within the top 1% of high schools in the nation, and the baseball and girl’s basketball teams are district champions.  Other area public schools include Sterling Park Elementary, South Seminole Middle School and the nationally ranked Winter Springs and Lyman high schools.  Also, Casselberry has a number of private schools ranging from secular schools to those with diverse religious affiliations.

With Orlando right around the corner, Casselberry offers many secondary education opportunities for students seeking non-degree courses to those pursuing professional level degrees and everything in between.  The University of Central Florida is one of the largest universities in the nation providing undergraduate, graduate and medical school programs to over 50,000 students.  The school offers over 200 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs while the new medical school and research facilities are preparing UCF for continued growth. 

Central Florida is also home to many private universities including Barry University Law School.  Additionally, the historic Stetson University main campus is located 40 minutes north of Casselberry in DeLand. This private university offers 60 undergraduate majors and minors as well as a college of law located in the Tampa area.  The local two-year college, Seminole Community College, offers more than 130 certificate and associate degree programs.
